VPN for Windows (EN)

The following instructions will help you configure the VPN. Please read the steps carefully and follow them step by step.

Note: Student or research assistants must set up two-factor authentication. Instructions for this can be found here:  https://support.dshs-koeln.de/kb/de-de/99/259

1. Open a browser of your choice, e.g. Firefox, and go to the following website: https://vpnprofil.dshs-koeln.de/

2. Log in with your personal DSHS ID and the corresponding password (the same as for MySpoho).

3. After registering, you will be redirected to the website where you can click on the green “Download Cisco AnyConnect Client” button.

4. On the next webpage, please fill in the fields with your personal DSHS ID and the corresponding password (the same as for MySpoho).

5. You will now be redirected to the website where you can download the VPN. Click on “Download for Windows.” Now start the installation of Cisco Anyconnect.

6. Open the Cisco Anyconnect Client and click on the gear icon (Settings). Uncheck the box next to “Block connections to untrusted servers.” Then you can close the settings. Click in the field next to Connect and enter vpngw.dshs-koeln.de. Then click on Connect.

7. After clicking Connect, another window will open. Select Students under Group and enter your personal DSHS-ID and the corresponding password (the same as for MySpoho) under Username. Confirm by clicking OK.
