The following instructions will help you configure the VPN. Please read the steps carefully and follow them step by step.
Note: Student or research assistants must set up two-factor authentication. Instructions for this can be found here:

1. Open the Browser of your choice e.g. Firefox, Edge and go to https://vpn.dshs-koeln.de/
2. In the dropdown "GROUP:" choose "Studierende" and logon with your personal DSHS-ID and your password (the same you use to logon to MySpoho).
3. In the following portal you can now download the VPN software by clicking "Download for macOS".
4. After installing open the Cisco Anyconnect Client and click on the gear icon (Settings). Uncheck the box next to “Block connections to untrusted servers.” Then you can close the settings. Click in the field next to Connect and enter vpngw.dshs-koeln.de. Then click on Connect.
5. After clicking Connect, another window will open. Select Students under Group and enter your personal DSHS-ID and the corresponding password (the same as for MySpoho) under Username. Confirm by clicking OK.
6. Once you have successfully authenticated, an active connection will be established.
